Three Platforms to Consider for Creating a Podcast or Live Stream
Over the past six years I have been creating videos and podcasts and find that creating video as part of your podcast is a great thing to have for sharing snippets on social media or as part of your website or email campaigns. Here are three platforms to consider.
Ecamm
Ecamm is a Mac-only video software program and has some great advanced features. It allows for the creation of pre-made scenes which you can program in advance. It has both an interview mode and recently integrated with Zoom. This new feature allows you to manage your guests in Zoom but have the presentation power of Ecamm at your disposal. You can record separate video and audio tracks for post-production editing.
StreamYard
StreamYard is a browser-based live streaming platform that works on both PC and Mac. It is probably one of the easiest to use for those not used to live-streaming. You can use two cameras starting with the basic plan and you can also do individual local recordings of both the audio and video of each camera or guest. You can't create scenes like with Ecamm but you can create custom layouts that give you the ability to have some originality.
Riverside
Riverside started as a podcast creation platform for PC or Mac but has evolved into a platform that will allow you to create live streams or podcasts. It has great audio editing features that make things easy for editing your audio in post-production. They continue to add new and exciting features to help make your livestream look better and allow you to add multiple cameras via their mobile app.
I believe you should never rely on just one platform and experiment with what will work best for you. Let me know if you have a platform not mentioned here you think is worth looking into
